CONSULTATION
Assessment of your lips, face and goals
Lip shape is about more than volume.
Your lips are assessed in relation to your facial proportions, natural shape and surrounding features. Consultation gives us time to understand your concerns, discuss what you would like to change and consider options appropriate to your individual anatomy.
Suitability and treatment options are determined following individual clinical assessment.
Lip volume treatment is individually planned following an assessment of your lip shape, facial proportions and the concerns you want to address. Treatment is not recommended without a consultation first.

Regulatory guidelines govern how lip volume treatment can be described publicly. The product, technique, expected outcome and risks will all be explained in full at your consultation before any treatment is agreed.
Lip volume treatment is planned individually following assessment. Here is what to expect from start to finish.
We discuss your goals, review your medical history and ask about previous treatments and any medicines you take.
We assess your lips, facial proportions and balance to understand your starting point and what may be appropriate for you.
We explain the proposed treatment, product, expected outcome and risks. Nothing proceeds without your full understanding and agreement.
The procedure is carried out at your appointment. The technique will be fully explained at your consultation — regulatory guidelines prevent us from describing it in detail here.
We explain what to expect in the days following treatment and schedule a review to assess the result once swelling has settled.
Shape, proportion, movement and the surrounding facial structures all contribute to how the lips appear.
We consider the lips, smile, dental support and surrounding facial proportions in the context of your individual face.
The lips don't exist in isolation.
Their appearance is influenced by individual anatomy, the teeth underneath them, facial proportions, movement and changes that occur over time.
During assessment, the lips are considered together with the smile, teeth and surrounding facial features. This provides more context than assessing lip size alone.
We assess your lips, facial proportions, smile and surrounding structures, and discuss your concerns, goals and relevant health history. We will explain the options that may be appropriate, what is involved, the expected outcome and the risks before you make any decision.
You are not required to proceed with treatment at a consultation.
No. Suitability depends on your individual anatomy, health history, previous treatments and what you are hoping to achieve. Some patients are not suitable candidates, or may be better served by a different approach.
This is why assessment comes before any recommendation.
Swelling, bruising and temporary tenderness in the treated area are common and usually settle within one to two weeks. The final appearance of the lips should be assessed once initial swelling has resolved.
We will give you specific aftercare instructions at your appointment and ask you to return for a review.
This varies between individuals and depends on the product used, the area treated, your metabolism and lifestyle factors. Results are not permanent.
We will give you a more specific indication of expected duration at your consultation once your individual situation has been assessed.
Our treatment usually takes place with full dental anaesthesia, making the procedure very comfortable. We discuss comfort options at your consultation and take steps to minimise discomfort during the procedure. Some tenderness in the area is normal after treatment and usually settles within a few days.
This really depends upon you and your goals. Previous treatment is an important part of your consultation. We need to know what products have been used, how much was placed and how recently. In some situations, an assessment of the existing filler may be recommended before new treatment is considered.
Common effects include temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness and asymmetry. Less common but potentially serious complications include vascular occlusion, infection and tissue injury.
All risks relevant to the proposed procedure will be discussed in full at your consultation before you are asked to consent.
