What are veneers?
Veneers are a bonded layer that is placed over the front surface of a tooth to correct a cosmetic concern. By using a veneer, the position, colour and the shape of a tooth may be disguised. A dark tooth can appear whiter, gaps can disappear or rotated teeth can appear straighter.
Veneers do not take the place of braces, but offer an alternative cosmetic treatment option for those patients that prefer to have an instant result.

How many teeth should I veneer?
This will vary depending upon the cosmetic concern you have. Generally speaking, the greater the change in your smile you wish to achieve, the more teeth you should veneer. The best smile transformations are those where you cannot distinguish which teeth have been treated. We will guide you on how many teeth need treatment to give you the best result.

Does the procedure painful?
Porcelain veneers usually involve some alteration to the tooth structure. For this reason, we usually will use anaesthetic before beginning any work.

How long do veneers last?
Porcelain veneers do not stain as the porcelain has a glaze that is resistant to food, drink and smoking.
The expected life-span of the veneer will be very dependent upon your bite, habits and general maintenance.

When will I see the results?
Porcelain veneers require two visits. During the first visit, any required preparation of your teeth will be performed and an impression taken. Bonding of the veneers is done at the second visit.
