Bitten Lip or Tongue: Clean the area gently with a cloth and apply cold compresses to reduce any swelling. If you have prolonged bleeding, visit your local emergency department.

Broken Tooth: Gently clean with a soft toothbrush. ‘Orthodontic wax’ from a chemist can be used to help reduce sensitivity and sharp edges. If you have the piece of broken tooth, bring it to your dental appointment.

Jaw-Possibly Broken:
Apply cold compresses to control swelling. Go to an emergency department without delay.

Knocked Out Tooth: Hold the tooth by the crown and clean the root very gently with your saliva. Do not scrub the tooth as the root surface is alive. If possible, gently insert the tooth in its socket. If that isn’t possible, put the tooth in a piece of glad wrap or cup of milk to keep the tooth moist. Whatever the case seek immediate dental treatment.

Objects or Food Caught Between Teeth: Try to gently remove the object with dental floss. Interdental brushes can be used to push food out from between the teeth.

Toothache: Use dental floss to ensure that there is no debris caught between the teeth. Ask your pharmacist for anti-inflammatory medication, which may help ease the ache.
