Frequently asked questions
How do
I get whiter teeth?
There are two methods:
1. Home whitening: An upper and lower
impression of your teeth are taken. Whitening trays are
made especially for you. When at home, the trays are filled
with the whitening gel provided. After wearing these
for a few 30 minute sessions, you will notice a brighter
smile.
2.
In-office whitening: Whitening gel is
applied onto your teeth carefully during a 60 minute
whitening session. A change of approximately 3-4 shades is
usual. For further whitening, this process can be repeated,
or at home whitening can be used.
Whitening gels have been tested in research laboratories all across the world. iDental has specifically chosen a concentration of gel that has been proven to have no detrimental effect on teeth, fillings or gums.
How long does it take?
A 30 minute daily application of the home-use whitening gel, for around 14 days. This will vary according to the colour you wish to achieve, along with the original colour of your teeth.
The results typically last for some years. This will vary according to your dietary habits (including smoking) and your general oral hygiene. This can be maintained with regular examination and a cleaning program to remove external stains and build-ups.
