For most people a
series of transparent aligners are issued at regular
intervals by one of our dentists and the desired teeth are
moved slowly before the next aligner is used. Each aligner
is worn for about 2 weeks. Aligners are worn full time (22
hours a day) and only removed for eating, cleaning your
teeth and whilst having hot drinks. We will be able to
provide you with an estimated time frame and cost after
taking models of your teeth and planning the treatment.
If your bite correction is unsuitable for Invisalign,
we will refer you to an orthodontist for assessment.

Starting INVISALIGN is very easy.
1. Your first visit involves taking models,
a full mouth xray and photos to evaluate your orthodontic
condition and determine the treatment best for you.
2. After 4-6 weeks you will return to iDental to have your
first appliances fitted.
3. On first placing the Invisalign Aligners in your mouth,
you will note that they may be tight.
4. At two-week intervals, new aligners will be issues to
you.
5. Some people will require some shaping of the teeth
during treatment to maximise the orthodontic effect and
appearance of the smile.
6. Usually when your third aligner is in position, small
tooth-coloured positioners are temporarily fixed to the a
couple of your teeth to help speed up the movement of your
teeth.
7. We discourage smoking while wearing aligners because it
is possible for the aligners to become discolored.
8. At the completion of treatment, a retainer will be made
and is to be worn during sleep.
